I’m getting ready to catch a plane to Beijing Friday morning to complete my final undergraduate journalism course. Along with about 15 other students and a faculty member, I’ll be spending four weeks exploring China and doing grass-roots reporting.
We spend our first two weeks in Beijing, then move on to a rural village near the coast for four days (where we won’t have internet or phone connectivity), and finish the trip with about ten days in Shanghai. If any of you know someone in these Chinese cities with an interesting story to tell, let me know — I’d love to interview them.
The stories we produce will be published on a website we’ve created: http://chinainfocus.net. Be sure to visit the site for all of the story content we’ll be churning out.
I’ve created a section called Travel on this — my personal — website. My latest travel entries will also be visible right on my homepage. Check back between May 27 and June 25 to see what I’m up to, or just to ogle the many photos I’ll likely be posting of the amazing (vegetarian) food I’m going to eat!
